A portrait of my father. Prior to this photo, my father was diagnosed with stage four renal cancer. He underwent surgery for the removal of a kidney, and during his recovery he posed for this photo. The original piece is signed by my father with a message about how his scar does not define him. Despite the scar being clearly visible, he puts on a brave face. He wants to come back stronger. This is one of my most emotional pieces, especially for my family.
